Vacillate was originally created in a game jam format, but was then developed as a thesis project for the Master’s of Game Design program at Uppsala University. Following the successful defense of our thesis, we continued to work on Vacillate and most recently presented it at the Gotland Game Conference.
Developing the rotation mechanic created many challenges that required unique solutions. I learned a lot about programming custom physics systems and maintaining two complex and individual environments in the same game.
